Scifidelic Student Music Video Contest!

Colorado student filmmakers! It's time to show off your skills and let your creativity shine for everyone to see! Create the next Scifidelic music video and win!

The contest officially kicks off on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at which time we will be accepting registrations. To register, please send an email to talent@scifidelic.com with the following information:
1. The name and age of each member of your team and the school in which each member of your team is enrolled.
2. Please identify the leader of your group with whom we will be in contact. Please include his/her phone number, email address and any other contact information.
3. Once we receive and validate your information, we will send you a file of Scifidelic songs. You will be able to let us know which song for which you will be making your video. Several songs and videos are on this website or you can Google search Scifidelic's music and find a song that way and include it in your initial registration email.

As you can see here on our website, Scifidelic is an alternative rock band known for hard-driving, dance-driven, post-industrial instrumental and electronica hybrid sound. Emotional, deep, thought-provoking lyrics bring otherworldly sounds to a new height. And the live performances take the music to an even higher level.

Most of our videos follow a thought-provoking and artistic storyline. Click Here to view the current videos. We are now ready for something new, exciting, unique, creative and unforgettable. And that is where your video comes into play! Young, creative minds coming unleashed on the music world inspired by the music of Scifidelic!

We will provide you with a folder of twenty of Scifidelic's songs. Select the song you would like to use. This song must play in its entirety, uncut, through the length of the video. Some of these songs already have videos, so feel free to upstage Scifidelic and make a better one! Others do not yet have videos. We will provide you with a general story line. However, it is not necessary to follow our storyline. Come up with your own based on the song you select, or continue the story in your own fashion. It's entirely up to you and your team.

This is to be a music video and should be no longer than 30 seconds longer than the length of the song. All ideas and content must be original, created by your group and cannot be plagiarized. The song you select cannot be remixed and must stay in its original format. Judging will be based on quality, creativity, uniqueness, visual appeal, artistic merit, memorable and marketability. Have fun with it! Sexy, interesting, weird, bizarre, eclectic, mindful... take it in whatever direction you would like. But keep it at least PG-13 and, of course, very, very cool. We are looking for something creative that will stand out amongst the crowd!

ACCESS TO THE BAND: You will have access to the Scifidelic band for including in your video. Scifidelic will be happy to supply any makeup that may be necessary, limited to the typical makeup used by Scifidelic's makeup artists. You will need to adhere to Scifidelic's schedule and availability. You may also request access to Scifidelic's studio and sound system for filming if necessary. Scifidelic reserves the right to refuse stunts or acting that may jeopardize their safety or any type of acting that they feel misrepresents Scifidelic or their values. Scifidelic also has access to actors, actresses and models whom you may want to utilize. While many will participate at no cost, any fees incurred must be paid by your team.

The video must be delivered in a Google Drive that we can download in one of the following formats: MOV, MPEG, FLV, or AVI. Completed video must be sent to talent@scifidelic.com and received no later than October 1, 2017.

First Place: $400.00 to your team AND backstage passes to one of our major shows where your team and video will be presented live! Plus, of course, credits for the video. And the experience you will gain from working and directing a band and any actors / extras involved along with your creativity.

Second Place: $200.00 to your team and backstage passes to one of our major shows where your team and video will be presented live!

Runner Up: Tickets to one of our major shows!

Winners will be announced on October 10, 2017.

This contest is open to students who are enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at a Colorado college or university. High school seniors who are enrolled in a Colorado high school are also eligible. Students under the age of 18 must have a parental consent form signed. The entire team must be registered in order to participate.

All filming, editing, writing, scripting, and all other aspects of this video, with the exception of acting, must be performed by amateur students.
